1970's Era John Deere Model D Tractor

This is one of my toy tractors that I played with when I was growing up as a kid in the 1970's.

I'm not sure when it was made.  I'm assuming it was made by Ertl.  I have seen other examples on the web that states it was made by Ertl.

Any information would be appreciated about the year of manufacture.

Information found on the web for similar tractor models as this describe the model as 1923, and made of cast iron, 1/16th scale, 6.5" long.
